It’s okay to be
mesmerized by those Instagram-worthy gym wear pieces you browse through all
day. But have you ever thought how long those fancy-looking but low-quality
neon shorts, you ordered out of impulse, will last? Gym wear is expensive! For
some, it may not be but for me, spending over $100 on a pair of leggings and
$50 on a tank top is a heartache. I mean, it’s okay to splurge on a pair of
high-performance shoes or high-impact sports bra but the shorts, tanks, and
even leggings in your fitness wardrobe can be basic.
For other women like
me, who wish to create a basic women’sfitness wardrobe on a budget, here’s a checklist of 5 basic essentials that
won’t cost you a jackpot and are truly worth the buck!
Workout Clothes for Women
1. A Pair of Solid
Yoga Pants
Yoga pants are so
versatile and comfy that you can literally wear them for any sport, outdoor
activity and training at the gym. You don’t have to worry about wardrobe
malfunctions and they give you the best range of motion - the reason why it’s
every girl’s favourite. To own a good pair doesn’t mean you need to spend in

A simple,
reasonably-priced tank top (but also a high-quality one) is hard to find. I own

thin, light and breathable, has double straps and gives me great support,
comfort and confidence. Thus, boosting my performance at the gym. Great things
don’t always come with great price tags!
3. High-Impact Sports
Bra
When it comes to inner
wear, I don’t mind spending a few extra bucks because it really affects the
performance. But I don’t splurge for attractive designs, patterns and colors. I
look for impact - high impact! Quality of fabric matters too. While buying a
sports bra, keep comfort, support, lift and breathability at the top of your
checklist, followed by design, color, and patterns etc. The key is to keep it
basic and look for a sports bra that ensures flattering yet compressive fit.
4. An All-Star Jacket
Women’s sportswear jacket is a must-have if
you train. Rain or storm shouldn’t stop you from achieving great things, after
all. Jackets are usually overpriced. The key is to look for a highly-durable
one, preferably black so you don’t have to pay hefty dry-cleaning bills, and
excessive strength so it protects you well. Do not be tempted by designs and
patterns. Other than a stylish jacket, pick one that’s durable and
built-to-last. Even if you don’t come across a cheap one, you will surely be
satisfied of splurging at the right one.
5. A Pair of Basic
Shorts
As summer-time is
here, this becomes an essential. While buying a pair of shorts, look for
compressive fit. Unlike the in-vogue balloon shorts, the compressive shorts
ensure superior durability and maximize performance. The balloon shorts sure
look good, but the compressive shorts are more durable and improve performance
by giving a better fit, more flexibility, and hence, more range of motion.
In order to create a
budget fitness wardrobe, include basic and durable essentials to it rather than
fancy-looking, low-quality pieces.These basic essentials won’t cost a lot if
you search well online and look for deals and discounts that cut the cost
further. It’s okay to be tempted by the attractive styles but stick to strength
and durability and you’ll have a fitness wardrobe that will unfailingly support
you in your everyday grind.
